SGFP Advocacy Working Group

"SGFP Advocacy is committed to the advancement of the interests of Family Physicians across Ontario.  To that end, we have held two Advocacy Townhalls, one jointly with the Ontario College of Family Physicians, developed a joint OCFP/SGFP Advocacy Toolkit. The slide deck for the SGFP Advocacy Townhall is available here, as well as an SGFP Toolkit.

Going forward, we're having ongoing high-level conversations with senior members of the Ford cabinet.  We've elicited feedback from membership about our advocacy messaging, committed to working across ALL political parties to advance the interests of Family Physicians, and committed to working in partnership with the OMA on the five-point "Prescription for Ontario" plan. We've developed a one-page Advocacy poster and are working closely with OMA for an SGFP Healthcare Advocate social on the evening of Sunday November 20th with the goal of working in concert with the Healthcare Advocate Queen's Park Day on Monday November 21st.

We have heard your pain points in practice and remain committed to addressing them with the most senior levels of the government of Ontario."

Dr. Sharad Rai, Chair
