If it has ever been your job to keep a list of upcoming events current you will know that adding a new event to a series of events can be a pain. To address this in 2023 we implemented an enhancement for event series like 'Acme Hospital 2024-2025 Primary Care Rounds' could remain one single event that contained in it a series of sub-events.

This was a big time saver however displaying all those subevents like they were individual events was tricky. There were always tradeoffs to this approach.

Today we have gotten around to solving that next part.

This site and all of our affiliated sites now go through events to spot the ones that are really a series of events and present the 'next-up' event in each series when describing the containing event.

We won't get into how we did this because it is very dull. This is a boring post. It is more just to reassure you that we spend a lot of time working on these seemingly unimportant, programming-intensive matters so your efforts are facilitated and promoted properly. We are all about connecting learners to their communities and specific opportunities.

This means if you host or post a series of events on PrimaryON.ca that is syndicated to other external websites the sub-events will roll over automatically on all applicable pages and views. This frees you up to get in and out quickly with your changes. If you fold in thoughtful taggings for applicable subjects, professions and regions this helps us route your events to the right websites and their learners.
